Some extra things happening in August

Got this dresser for free.  Painted it and stuck it in the boys room.  Isn't it great!  Its amazing what a little paint can do to an old dirty dresser.
I let Jaq ride her scooter a few days to Kindergarten as I drove the 3/4 mile next to her.  Well one day I noticed her smiling so I rolled down my window to hear her just giggling away.  She told me later since the ride to school is all downhill that it was tickling her feet and making her laugh.  Too funny.
Everyone ALIVE at this date will remember the MLS Icebucket challenge.  Here is Jaq and Seth accepting the challenge from their cousin.  They were both great sports.

After the ice bucket challenge, Jaq got so cold she went and put on 2 pairs of sweats, socks and slippers....and since she was dressed up so funny.... it made her whole demeanor act funny as well, naturally.

Another Great year at the Cedar Express Relay

Team: Kiss my fast (the wives) vs. Half Fast Husbands

 Go Cordelle! Go!

And GUESS what?  WE WON FIRST PLACE IN WOMENS!!  (and we beat the boys by less than 2 minutes)  AHH YEA!

Jaq was so cute and made us all bracelets that matched with our shirt colors!  Love them!

Seth turns 8!!!

I can't believe that Seth is 8 and will get baptized!  What a joy he is in our family.  He has such a fun zest and excitement for life.  He is active and funny, and such a good kid.  He is the best brother out there and Jaq and Collin are SO lucky to have him.  What a blessing he is for us.  We love you Sethers!

For Seth's big 8th birthday party we let him invite two friends to dinner at a restaurant of his choice and to the aquatic center for a night of swimming and food!  These boys are silly but so fun! I love that he has great friends.

Collin of course loved getting into the "transformer theme" and even whipped out his own transformer moves with Seth.  What a great day!

Odds and Ends of Summer

I can't tell you how much I love this photo. I was texting on my phone and looked up to see this little hand.  I  am so glad I had a camera so close by.  Never let being short stop you from getting what you want.

August brings birthday check ups at the pediatricians office.  And so, while we wait, why not a little photo session!

That is me, "practicing" my leg for the Cedar Express Relay.  Cordelle and I took turns one Saturday running the "Angry Man" as it is called because we both had to run it! Basically 2 ENORMOUS hills and it kicked my trash.

The Tour of Utah came through Enoch!  So we took the kids down to Minersville Highway to watch that 8 seconds.

This is Ally's 4 year old birthday party.  She is pretty much one of my favorite little people.  She has more personality than an entire middle school full of kids.  Love her in her little Izzy outfit! (Jake and the Neverland Pirates)

MORRIS REUNION TO YELLOWSTONE!!

Well Cordelle's family decided to celebrate their parent's 50th wedding anniversary in the same place they went for the honeymoon.  So His whole family committed to planning a trip to yellowstone for 3 days!  We rented 2 beautiful cabins and completely had a blast.  I really love his family and am so lucky to have such great inlaws!  We started our trip with a little family time of our own, staying in a few hotels to break up the travel and we took the kids to see How to Train a Dragon 2 at the theater.  Here are the pics from the rest of the trip!
 The super nice cabins!

 hot tubbin'
At the private lake in the gated, locked open subdivision where our cabins were.

All the boys got together and watched "The Lego Movie" one night while the girls made some necklaces.
And here we are at Old Faithful.  We were about an hour drive from the entrance of the park and by the time we drove around, we decided this national park is one for older kids....who can hold IT....and who can actually sleep or stand being in the car for the entire day.

I do remember it being a much bigger explosion when we were little....hum...oh well.
 Pretty views
Incredible waterfalls!  I seriously don't remember the waterfalls.  And for me, these were the best part!

 Moosen.

The kids did like the bubbly hot mud the best.

We ended the trip with an evening honoring Grandma and Grandpa Morris and a little dance off with all the kids.  (I think there are 26 grandkids and two spouses??) What a fun vacation to end a FUN summer!
