Weekend Adventures

This past weekend we went up to our home town of South Jordan to marry off one of Cordelle's good friends from High School Kyle Johnson. He married a cute girl named Ila and it was way fun to see them get married. The rest of the weekend was so nice just to relax and hang out with both fams. Its been awhile since we've been able to do that. Sunday's weather was SOO nice up there. It was almost hot. I started to faintly remember what summer feels like. Anyways Seth and Grandpa Morris had some fun outside so I thought I'd share the photos. And I have to say the basketball pictures are priceless because right now Seth is OBSESSED with basketball. I've tried to make him play soccer with me but its all about the hoops. I mean, he likes all balls but whenever a hoop comes into view he's like undeterred to anything else. There is no distraction or way to get his mind off of it. He just signs ball and yells ba-ba-ball (which of course is basketball) over and over again. So of course with a basketball court in Cordelle's back yard, this is pretty much all we heard. And then grandpa and Dad decided it would be fun to lift him up so he could actually make a basket, which is fun and cute for him, but once they're gone and he looks at mom, I get to deal with a very disappointed toddler cause mom can barely reach the bottom of the net (even with the hoop on its lowest setting). Anyways its fun to see them really love something this much though. He's so such a riot right now. Ah, good times.

EASTER CAMPING!!

Well its that time of year again and as many of you know every easter we go camping in the desert! We had so much fun! Everyone was there except for Brett (who had papers to write and studying to do) and Neal who of course is in Italy. Even Tallie and Jim drove up from LA (which Seth loved)! For March the weather even wasnt that bad, especially on Friday things were even HOT. Seth just loved the whole trip. Once we got out of the car you could just see the look on his face..."so many places to go, how do I do it all?" I think he was just ecstatic to be outside without ever having to "go back in the house." Seriously though this year with him was so fun! So here's some pics from the trip. (I know I get camera happy)Picking up all the Jelly Beans from the Bunny Trail

Easter Baskets

The Family

Cousins

And then of course we had The Easter Egg Hunt, which I must say hasn't been this fun in years. Seth just ate it all up. And in the desert there are a lot of cool places to find easter eggs.

HELP WANTED....toddler beds....AHH!!

Okay, so heres a rough update on our family. A couple weeks ago, our perfect little sleeper Seth, out of the yackity old blue decided one day to boycott the crib. Thinking it was a faze he'd grow out of or cry himself to sleep out of for a few days, I tolerated it. But soon The great Battle of Bedtime left him hoarse from screaming and then eventually two loud bonks to the floor. In other words the kid would get so mad he'd climb right out of the cage we call a crib and somehow manage not to break his neck on the way down. So I decided we would make THE SWITCH. We got a toddler bed and decked it all out with some totally awesome lightning McQueen sheets and pillowcase which he loved....during the day (see pics). And then night came and suddenly his sheets are not so cool when he cant see them in the dark, and then his wee little head figures out he can easily escape this new bed and nothing will stop him from frolicking in and out of his room at his own pleasuring delight. One night we drop him in his crib and without a sound he's asleep, the next night we spend 2 hours taking him back to his bed, telling him to lie down, and thinking if I see that little head pop around that corner again Im going to reasemble that crib myself, turn it upside down, stick him in it and show him what a cage really looks like (I kid, I kid). Once he finally does fall asleep (which by the way doesnt happen unless we are within arms reach of him now) then every 2-3 hours, until 4:00am, at which point the time increases to every hour, he wakes up, grabs his blankets and heads for our bedroom.
Now I know what you moms out there are thinking..."I remember those days" or "yes, we all go through this", or maybe your just laughing at my misfortune like my loving sister did. Okay, thats fine and all, I have come to a realization that this is one of those things about parent-hood that no one tells you about that makes you want to bang your head against a wall. But do they ever stay in their bed? Will we ever put him down again not to see him till morning? If so...HOW DID YOU DO IT? All comments and suggestions will be thoroughly sifted through and taken into high consideration. Thanks!

Cross Country Skiing at Bryce Canyon!

Ha! This weekend was way fun. We joined the young women in our ward and stayed at Ruby's Inn at Bryce Canyon and had a great time. We swam Friday night and listen to the girls scream and run around the hotel but Saturday we decided to join the group and go Cross Country Skiing. I'd never been on skis in my life, but I loved it!! We just strapped Seth in the backpack and Cordelle took him along. He was such a good trooper (depsite the fact that in one of the pics of all three of us he looks highly annoyed). Anyways, it made for a fun overnighter and a cool new adventure to chalk up for me.

Alright, Alright I've Been tagged....twice.

So here it is....

What were you doing ten years ago?
Holy canolie, I was 15! A freshman in High School but currently attending Elk Ridge Middle School. I think all I cared about at that age was SOCCER and my cute neighborhood boyfriends. Also I was probably still crawling around the neighborhood at night with Michelle, Michelle and Angela playing X-Files.

Snacks I enjoy:
Ummmm...snacks. I enjoy just about any snack really. But here are the most recent: pickles, carrot sticks, crackers, fruit snacks, gold fish (can you tell i have a toddler?) and then of course anything layered, filled, dipped or slightly drizzled with chocolate I will not hesitate consuming.

Five things on my to-do list today:
1. Visiting Teaching at 10:00
2. Watch Jori from 12:30-3:00
3. Write Neal
4. Clean House/make dinner BEFORE C-dog gets home
5. Watch American Idol and flip to Biggest Loser during commercials

Things if I would do if I were suddenly made a billionaire:
Are you ready? Okay first I'd pay our house..then move to a bigger house OR maybe just move. Finish the yard with a mini soccer field, basketball court, and tennis court. I'd put enough away so all my kids could go to any college they'd want and my boys could all go on missions. Of course at least a million would go in retirement (scratch that, I'd make Cordelle retire and live off of interest). I'd buy my parents a new home and my brothers all new cars. I too, would of course pay my tithing which would probably help build a temple somewhere (maybe right here in Enoch...yes...fund a temple here in Enoch). And the list could go on but...I have other questions to answer.

Three of my bad habits:
1. Once I start a project I am zoned in and cant stop no matter what else needs to be done.
2. I bite my fingernails
3. I almost never make my bed...cause I just have to get in it in a few hours anyways.

Jobs I have Had...
Paper Girl
Custodial work at Elk Ridge Middle
Bagger/checker at Macey's
Mail Room assistant at Snow College
House Keeper at the Big Yellow Inn
Student Assistant for Continuing Education and Masters of Education

Things people don't know about me:
1. Some little domestic devil has taken root inside of me and suddenly I love decorating, scrapbooking and...shush....sewing.
2.I love working out and I pretend that I can still play sports even though in all honesty I havent for years.
3. I love to organize things....however, I also like to let go of things for awhile so I have something to organize. And when I clean I am pretty anal about how it is done.

People I will tag
sorry I probably wont tag anyone....mostly because I am pretty sure everyone I know who blogs already has been tagged. But thanks for including me in your game.

Presidents Day in ZIONS

Trail head at Zions
Lower falls at Emerald Pools

Good thing we brought Seth's winter hat. It was cold next to the falls!
Okay so this last weekend my parents and Scooter came down as a belated birthday present. So we decided to use my parents national park pass and go down to Zions. It was so nice! The weather was perfect but on the trail there was still snow and even ice. We decided to do the Emerald Pools hike and even though its a fairly easy hike, on a lot of the steep parts was covered with ice and snow. We were sliding and it was kinda crazy but we kept going and I am glad we did cause the falls were awesome! The main one at the top had created this huge mound of snow/ice that it was falling into. And then on our way down this whole family of deer came right in front of us on the trail. I could have taken two steps and pet them. Anyways my moms got all the rest of the pics (my camera died at the beginning of the trip --the pictures above). But I will post the pictures my mom sends me cause they were really cool. It was nice to actually do something on a holiday especially one Cordelle actually gets off. I was so glad we did it. I love my family. Oh yea and Seth learned some new words that were really fun to hear him say. He says "Grandpa" and "uncle Scott" perfectly! He loved having the company all weekend!

SUU BRIDAL SHOW

So this last weekend we participated in our first Bridal show to advertise our wedding announcement business! It was really fun. I stayed at the booth the whole day while Seth and Cordelle walked around and hung out. I met with some potential brides and got a lot of feedback about what designs they liked and stuff, we even met some wedding event planners so hopefully we'll get some exposure and announcements through that too. Also I got quoted in the Cedar City Daily News on the front page! You can check out the article here. Hey its a great free advertisement for us since they put the name CedarWeddings.com right in the article! It made for a long Saturday but it was fun for me! So yea, spread the word if you know someone getting married...send them our way!
