Seth got some desperately needed new Sunday clothes and was kind enough to pose a second so I could snap this picture. Doesn't he look handsome? And this picture of Jaq is one of the only ones I have of her eyes open. Because if she's not sleeping or eating, she's crying...which never makes for cute pictures. Pretty sure she's collicky, which my friends, has not been so fun. Any of you had collicky kids? Any good advice you want to share? At this point, Im taking anything I can get. Even the other day someone said cartwheels would help (for me not the baby) and in my sleep-deprived, half insane mind I thought pretty seriously about attempting one until I thought, "Thats just plain rediculous!" Still though, any suggestions?

Love it! He is adorable and so is she! If I remember right it was originally called Discovery Park and then renamed Park Discovery. I hate the rename.
I can't speak from personal experience, but I have a friend who had a very colicky baby. Maybe you've heard this before, but she said white noise worked wonders... the vacuum, a static-y spot on the radio dial, letting her sleep in her car seat on top of the dryer while it ran. She also said the book "The Happiest Baby on the Block" helped her a lot. I hope things get better soon!
This is my advice for colic. We've had a lot in our family. Talk to your doctor. Lots of colic is treatable these days. If there truly is nothing causing the screaming, what I like to call the "colic" hold is awesome. It builds sweet biceps. Hold her face down on your forearm move your arm up and down. Although any parent of a colicky child knows one thing - nothing works forever. Good luck!!!
Hi Wendy and Cordelle! It's Jenny Bleak from Cedar like 3 years ago. I found your blog off another Cedar persons blog. Cute kids! It looks like you guys are doing great, I hope you don't mind me adding you to our blog. I would love to see how you are doing. Ours is thebleakfamily.blogspot.com
oh sad, i'm sorry about the colic! my friend down here in vegas is dealing with the same problem. she went to the dr. about it and they said she has acid reflux too and put her on some medication which we are hoping will start to help. i feel so bad for new mom's who have colicky babies!! good luck!
I used to babysit a child like that. All she would quiet down for is the blow dryer, so we kept that on hand. They thought that my little brother was a colicky baby until they took him to a chiropractor and found out that his head wasn't on strait which meant the child had been experiencing a migrane since birth. Once fixed, he stopped screaming.
It could be that she's just a female. I've found my nieces scream a lot more than the nephews, but what do I know? I don't even have kids.
OK this is a old time recipe but ask anyone and they say it's a miracle worker...but it's hard because they don't make the same product but you need to look for a flavored adult stomach medicine like mylanta, and mix it with 1 part mylanta to 2 parts butter milk. Start with teaspoons at first. Also White noise is the best to go with it. If you need a vacuum CD let me know. Any way Both my sister-in-laws used it and loved it and my mom. I've been lucky enough to have the best baby ever! (knock on wood for the second one!)hehehe Let me know how it works. (oh and don't worry that the mylanta is for adults in those doses it's perfectly fine for babies.
Handsome and beautiful. Good luck with the colic. I don't know what to tell you on that other than hang in there!
Coop was always really gassy and gas drops never cut it so a pharmacist actually told us to use acidophilus, the stuff in yogurt. You can buy it in capsules. He was a little older so we just opened the capsules in his rice cereal. It worked like a charm and we had a whole new baby as long as we remembered to give it to him twice a day...
Wendy, I didn't know that you had another baby!!! Condgratulations. I found your blog off of Jess. Very cute, very cute!!
Wow!!! He is so big, and so adorable. And congratulations on the new one, yeah, I'm a little late, sorry. She is very cute!!
GRIPE WATER is what you need, Micah got gas quite a bit and mother in law heard of it and bought some for me. It has worked wonders, it is made from ginger and it is AMAZING. You can find it at almost any store down the baby isle. Good luck with that. Let me know if you try it out, I want to know what you think. By the way Seth looks like a Stud.
Oh my! That is an adorable picture of Seth. So cute. And I can't believe how much Jaq looks like him. Good luck with the colic. I don't have one suggestion.
Hey Wendy! I just stumbled across your blog through Robyn's. Your kids are so beautiful! Congrats on the new baby girl. My blog is cookiesheets.blogspot.com, if you are interested.
Wend -- I am sendin' a lot of love your way. That's a lot of crying to deal with. A friend's baby loved the sound of water running. I think their water bill was quite high the first few months of their newborn's life! That little Seth of yours is a heartbreaker!
Oh my gosh he looks just like you!
Glad to hear that you are able to fit in some blogging time.
Hope all is going well!!
xoxo
