So today I'm getting ready right? And with kids its never a straight continual process. Its usually shower, get Seth cereal, put on some mascara, hold Jaq for a sec, blow-dry my hair, make Seth go potty...you get the idea. Well today I was making that big sunday decision....you know, which shoes do I wear with this skirt? Those ones are too flat, those ones are too tall, too wintery, too 90's, those make me trip just thinking about wearing them. So naturally, like Im sure many of us girls do, I took one style of shoe on my left foot and another style on the right, with the intention of going to the long mirror and seeing which one would suffice for todays outift choice. Well, just then Cordelle got home from an early meeting, Seth ran bare bummed out of the bathroom and Jaquelle was crying for who knows what reason only to distract me the more from completing my adornment. Alright yadda yadda yadda, fastforward, we left for church....and Im sitting next to the aisle in Sacrament meeting and I notice some guy look down at my feet. Odd I thought. Then it hit me. No way! Slowly I lowered my gaze to the floor where my feet lay one foot in one shoe and an other on the other foot. Nice. Its not like we live close by either, its a good 5 minute drive, so running home was out of the question. And kids dont allow you to hide. Of course Jaq needs to be taken out or Seth has to go potty. And everyone stares you down when you walk down those aisles, you know they do. I really just wanted to put a big sign on my head that said "yes, Im wearing two different shoes." Enstead I would see people notice, and say nothing, probably hoping it wouldnt embarrass me to bring it up. But I knew. I saw them notice. I knew they knew. UGh. But funny ( a little too funny to Cordelle though ).
To add to that it was about 4 o'clock in the after noon when I noticed another getting ready ritual was not fully accomplished. I learned an odd way of putting mascara on from my roomates in college. I dont worry about where the mascara goes when I put it on (and it usually ends up all around my eyes) because when Im done and its dried, I go and clean it all up with a q-tip. Well come 4 pm I finally look in the mirror again only to discover my mascara is really smeared. Odd I thought, since nothing truly traumatic has happened (apart from the shoe incident) that has really made me cry or anything. But no, it wasnt smeared it was just there, everywhere. I had just been distracted and forgot to "clean up" my eyes. Nice, twice. Naturally I began thinking of every person I talked to who I now have to explain that I really am not some pre-teen expirementing with mascara for the first time...its just one of those days. Sigh.

MEMORIAL Day
What a weekend! We finally went out and bought bushes, trees, and more plants for the garden but I'll post those later. (Its been so fun though growing your own garden and landscaping your yard. Who knew I would get so into stuff like that?)
Anyways on Monday we really wanted to do something with our family. So we promised Seth we would go on a hike to the mountains. So we went up Parawan canyon and found the neatest little waterfall. It was a great hike with kids too. I love where we live! Seriously 20 minutes and we're right in the outdoors hiking a waterfall. So cool. Heres some pics from our little trip. Seth was pretty nervous right next to the waterfall so he clung to me for dear life, but Jaq loved every bit of it! I forget how fun it is to do stuff like that, we really should do it more often. Anyways we totally want to go back so anyone close or that wants to come down we'll show you where it is and come with you!

MAY hem
Okay so its been since April that I've posted but May has been crazy busy with stuff. Heres a quick recap. May is of course the beginning of the Wedding Season so we've been doing quite a few wedding announcements and I have actually started designing (move over Cordelle). I've been picking up on things here and there and have even had about a handful of people choose my designs (over Cordelles...devilish laugh:). But of course what takes me an hour, takes him like 5 minutes. And he always has to go in after me and "fix" and "line" everything up cause apparently "eyeing it" just doesnt cut it sometimes. But actually he loves that I've been starting to design. He really doesnt have a whole lot of time anyways and he thinks its fun to teach me little short cuts in Indesign.

Also lately, we've been back to our projects...like our shutters. It took a lot longer than I thought to build them ourselves but well worth it. It adds a lot to our home, I think. We worked together but it was really for my mothers day gift. Speaking of Mothers Day, I had a great day and I got to talk to my little brother Neal who gets home in 2 weeks from Italy! My other little brother left just this last week for the MTC, he's going to Hungary and will miss Neal by only 2 weeks. Crazy huh? Ah I love my little bros. Im going to miss him so much. Anyways, for my moms mothers day gift, us girls went all in and totally redecorated the guest bathroom (it REALLY needed a makeover). We recalked, sanded and restained the cupboards, paintned and "cutesied" it all up with new shower curtains, rugs, towels. It looked awesome! And my little brother Mark got sick of hearing about how my mom really wanted to repaint her whole house, so he got up, got paint, started moving things around and started painted. He is quite motivated when he has his mind on something. Anyways so then my family spent the whole week painting frantically the whole house, only problem is it had to be done by Sunday cause we were having tonze of company for Marks farewell. Well it got done and it looks fantastic! But what a project. I wish I would have taken before and after pictures but my camera was being lame while we were up there and wouldnt turn on. (Oh yea, I also have pics of Mark and my family that I'll have to get from my mom to post).

Also this month Cordelle and I have been married for 6 years!! But I'll post the mushy lovey stuff on our actual anniversary (the 30th) but since we were already going to be up north for Marks farewell, we decided to take advantage of it and leave our kids with the fam and go have fun! So we found this darling little bed and breakfast in Spring City that we stayed at and it had a spectacular country view, a hot tub and of course Breakfast :). We spent the whole morning playing tennis, then the afternoon eating out, bowling, going to a movie (Angels and Demons which I actually really liked but I'll leave my movie critique to my movie critique blog...what? I dont have one?...ah well then that says it all). Basically though, we tried to cram as many things as we possibly could in one day that we cant do with kids... yes even that :) who are you kidding it was our anniversary? :) Anyways it was SO fun. I got a picture of the cute house with us and then a better one with the owner on the steps (she was mortified that we took it with her in it, but she was just as cute as her house). And we did take our camera bowling...notice my socks? I was wearing capris and sandals (stupid) and I forgot I needed socks cause there was no way I was sticking my bare foot in those nasty shoes...luckily we found Cordelle's church socks he was going to wear to the temple...dont they look hot?) Oh yea, and Happy Thanksgiving everyone cause I bowled my first TURKEY. (3 stikes in a row). Unfortunately I did poorly the rest of the time, but ended with a new lifetime high of 168.

Anyways so that was our May so far. Tomorrow we are planting shrubs and flowers so I'll have to post that when we get done too. Life's been good.
