MAY hem

Okay so its been since April that I've posted but May has been crazy busy with stuff. Heres a quick recap. May is of course the beginning of the Wedding Season so we've been doing quite a few wedding announcements and I have actually started designing (move over Cordelle). I've been picking up on things here and there and have even had about a handful of people choose my designs (over Cordelles...devilish laugh:). But of course what takes me an hour, takes him like 5 minutes. And he always has to go in after me and "fix" and "line" everything up cause apparently "eyeing it" just doesnt cut it sometimes. But actually he loves that I've been starting to design. He really doesnt have a whole lot of time anyways and he thinks its fun to teach me little short cuts in Indesign.
Also lately, we've been back to our projects...like our shutters. It took a lot longer than I thought to build them ourselves but well worth it. It adds a lot to our home, I think. We worked together but it was really for my mothers day gift. Speaking of Mothers Day, I had a great day and I got to talk to my little brother Neal who gets home in 2 weeks from Italy! My other little brother left just this last week for the MTC, he's going to Hungary and will miss Neal by only 2 weeks. Crazy huh? Ah I love my little bros. Im going to miss him so much. Anyways, for my moms mothers day gift, us girls went all in and totally redecorated the guest bathroom (it REALLY needed a makeover). We recalked, sanded and restained the cupboards, paintned and "cutesied" it all up with new shower curtains, rugs, towels. It looked awesome! And my little brother Mark got sick of hearing about how my mom really wanted to repaint her whole house, so he got up, got paint, started moving things around and started painted. He is quite motivated when he has his mind on something. Anyways so then my family spent the whole week painting frantically the whole house, only problem is it had to be done by Sunday cause we were having tonze of company for Marks farewell. Well it got done and it looks fantastic! But what a project. I wish I would have taken before and after pictures but my camera was being lame while we were up there and wouldnt turn on. (Oh yea, I also have pics of Mark and my family that I'll have to get from my mom to post).
Also this month Cordelle and I have been married for 6 years!! But I'll post the mushy lovey stuff on our actual anniversary (the 30th) but since we were already going to be up north for Marks farewell, we decided to take advantage of it and leave our kids with the fam and go have fun! So we found this darling little bed and breakfast in Spring City that we stayed at and it had a spectacular country view, a hot tub and of course Breakfast :). We spent the whole morning playing tennis, then the afternoon eating out, bowling, going to a movie (Angels and Demons which I actually really liked but I'll leave my movie critique to my movie critique blog...what? I dont have one?...ah well then that says it all). Basically though, we tried to cram as many things as we possibly could in one day that we cant do with kids... yes even that :) who are you kidding it was our anniversary? :) Anyways it was SO fun. I got a picture of the cute house with us and then a better one with the owner on the steps (she was mortified that we took it with her in it, but she was just as cute as her house). And we did take our camera bowling...notice my socks? I was wearing capris and sandals (stupid) and I forgot I needed socks cause there was no way I was sticking my bare foot in those nasty shoes...luckily we found Cordelle's church socks he was going to wear to the temple...dont they look hot?) Oh yea, and Happy Thanksgiving everyone cause I bowled my first TURKEY. (3 stikes in a row). Unfortunately I did poorly the rest of the time, but ended with a new lifetime high of 168.
Anyways so that was our May so far. Tomorrow we are planting shrubs and flowers so I'll have to post that when we get done too. Life's been good.

Wow you do sound like you have been really busy. I feel like that too. Congratulations on 6 years. Time sure does fly by. It was just the other day that we were all in the same ward, and working on our 1st year of marriage without kids.
