HALLOWEEN 2013

Tinkerbell, Ninja, and my little cat (sorry its the only costume I have that size so all my kids get to be it while they are one.)

 Mr. Collin the Cat

 Jaquelle as Tink

 Seth the Ninja

It was colder this year so we didn't go out nearly as long, and Seth wasn't feeling well so he went home early.  Jaq and I made it through all of Saddleback and down all of Rachel lane! So we felt pretty good with that. We ended the night in the nowhere mans land circle (By the Thomas' and Stoors) because the had hot chocolate and homemade donuts cause they never get any trick or treaters! I think we'll be going back there next year too.

This picture actually took place at our library's halloween fundraiser the Friday before halloween.  It was a Kids Festival.  Cordelle ended up taking Seth and Jaq because Collin puked once we got there and I ended up taking him home. :(
Carving pumpkins for the Pumpkin Carving Contest at the church pavillion
 K.  This picture is lame and doesn't do this new event in our neighborhood justice.  Our neighbor Deanne created this pumpkin carving contest, with donuts and hotchocolate and little fires and a halloween movie on the grass.  It was really a lot of fun.  Cordelle took Collin home and I came back with the kids and a million jillion blankets and we cuddled and watched Hotel Transvillavnia on the grass on the softball field. Such a fun new tradition!
I just love fall and halloween and all the change of weather.  Such a fun time of year!

The Sheep Parade

Yes we have an entire parade dedicated to the farmers moving the sheep off the mountain.  Its Cedar.  What can I say?  We are Festival City, USA.  Seriously.  That's our city's slogan.  Ok, I can't quite claim Cedar City as MY city, I am from Enoch. :)  Anyways normally I opt out of this parade and let Cordelle take the kids cause the first part is just a lot of big trucks and tractors but this time Cordelle's dad surprised us and decided to come down and bring his Model T truck down as an entry in the parade.  So needless to see we all rode in the back!  The kids loved being IN a parade.  It was great!  Cordelle's dad brought down his grandson Trevor who is living with them and serving a service mission in Salt Lake City, and he was fun and silly and my kids had a blast with him.
Oh yea, did I mention Cordelle got the Leavitt Group to sponsor his dad's Model T?  That was kind of fun.

Trevor insisted on carrying these two around everywhere!

AHH THE SHEEP.  See I told ya.  Now last year the herders (is that what they are called?) came racing down the street on their four wheelers screaming at everyone to move back cause the sheep got spooked and were hauling down Main Street.  But this year they all walked slowly and it was not near as exciting.

October Extra Pics!

I'm surprised this thigh even fit in between those two bars.

Our good friend Ryan made these for us for watching his kids.  He is super balloon talented wouldnt you think??

Jaquelle and the 6th member of our family according to her...her doll Lindsey.

One day he kept rounding the corner then backing up....I think he was trying to play peek-a-boo.  It was cute.
playing catch with the football

Blurry.  But a picture of his scrunchy smile none the less.
He just melts my heart.
This was funny.  He spent 5 whole minutes figuring out to climb into this box but once he was in, he couldn't figure how to get out.  so he stood there like that and screamed "ehhhh."At least he was smart enough to not try and face dive out of the box.
Okay, check this out.  Jaq was riding her bike when she fell off somehow and lodged her foot in between the pedal bar and the frame of the bike.  Now normally this would be easy to get out if you just turn the pedal backwards but because kids bikes have the pedals going backwards as their brake, I could not get her foot out no matter what I did. And it was hurting her.  And then 10 min in she starts freaking out!  Like she almost is acting like she is going into shock. Weird.  So I am trying to calm her down but i seriously dont know how to get it off. After like 30 minutes of trying to rotate her or the bike and getting flustered with how I would take the bike apart if it came to that, I finally went over and knocked on Kari Colemans door (our next door neighbor).  She was much more calm (I wasn't worried about if we'd get it off, it was just hard to concentrate when Jaq was crying and screaming that it hurt and would be stuck forever).  Anyways so after a few tools that luckily she had, we were able to loosen the tire enough to take of the chain and release the tension in the pedal that her foot just slipped out.  Jaq was so grateful!!  It was quite the little experience.  So now you know if your kid ever gets their foot stuck like this in a bike, that's how you get it out.  (Who knew?) I still cant figure how it got in there to begin with. What goes in, must come out right?

(above) This picture cracks me up.  On the days that I run in the mornings, if Collin gets up he gets to go hang out with Cordelle while he works on Dittobug in the mornings.  Needless to say this particular morning he was not so happy.  (Below) and sometimes he just needs to go back to bed.

UEA Camping....man has it been awhile.

So we haven't been UEA camping with my family since probably before Seth was born.  Once we started jobs and had kids it was just a busy time of year for Cordelle to take work off and its always pretty far away.  But this year I was anxious to get out and I was excited to see my family so I thought, Why not?  Lucky for me Cordelle decided he would take some time off and he came with us.  It was like a mini easter camping trip but with a lot of my parents friends and their family. But the food was great and it was fun hanging out with everyone. Tallie and Jim came down.  Krista and Aarron came.  Brett and Tiffany were there.  It was great!!  Because we still don't have a trailer (one day) and after looking at the night time forecast, we wimped out and decided to get a hotel in Cainville for 2 days!  But it was actually kind of a unique way to do it. We got to camp.... but ALSO shower every day, sleep in a warm bed, not have to bring any camping equipment like tents and had a place to go back to if things got crazy.  It was kind of nice, I'm not gonna lie.  More expensive for sure and we didn't know that Cainville was 15 away from our campsite and so we were driving quite a bit back and forth...but still a fun little mini-cation. :)

Seth and Jaq of course LOVED seeing their cousins!

And Collin had a good time just beeing outside and getting dirty.

We played a lot of games.  My mom's friends from their ward know a lot of games, so it was fun to learn and play some new games.

Cordelle inherited a camera from his work.  Its not the greatest.  But he brought it to play around with.  So he took all these pictures he considers ART.  I think they are old barbed wire fencese in the middle of a deserted desert.  Call me uncultured.

This one is pretty cool (above).
Our campsite from up on top of a mountain.

 Playing games

 King of the hill
little nooks for Collin to climb into.
Friday afternoon Neal and Brittlyn joined us and so we all went to tour Capital Reef (not that we haven't been there every year for the past 6 years at Easter) but we did the regular hikes to the petroglyphs and even discovered a new trail by accident (when we were looking for a 1 mile quick hike with just our family we discovered we went the wrong direction which led us to more of a 4 mile hike which our kids did awesome with and it was so rewarding because the scenery was way more beautiful than our other hike would have been.  Love it when those accidents happen).

We found this beautiful overlook that I dont ever remember going to before.  Had this cute little bench for the kids to "rest" on.

Isnt this beautiful?  I was so excited to take this wide panoramic of our family.  If the sun had on the other side of the horizon we could have gotten more of the deep gorge.
And here we are on our misguided hike.  Luckily Uncle Neal and Aunt Brittlyn were there to help entertain us. (especially Collin at the top).

And what better way to end a long trip of staying up late around the campfire with cousins than to zonk all the way home?  (How do you even sleep in that position?)
